Afia Schwarzenegger has for many months been taken off from OKAY FM and UTV, where she hosted two popular shows-“Ye Wo krom” and “Kokooko.”
Her on-air absence has led to speculations that she has been sacked–especially following her unnecessary battle of insults with Kennedy Agyepong, NPP’s MP for Assin North.
An insider at Despite Group of Companies has said that, Afia Schwarzenegger’s behaviour is volatile and therefore Despite cannot take a risk with her this election period.
Apparently, management of both UTV and OKAY FM were worried about her overtly display of support for the NDC, the bedrock of her outstanding bias.
“Afia has not been sacked. In fact she is still receiving salary and her car is being serviced even by Despite. The truth is, if she will come air, it will be after the upcoming elections,” the insider said.
The source added: “Afia is volatile and it will be risky to put her on air this period. That is why Despite has taken her off air and they even paid for her South African hospital bill.”
We are told Despite spent a lot to bring Afia Schwarzenegger over, including paying for her BMW’s personalized number plate–only to realize they’ve made a mistake “purchase.” But the business wants to mitigate their loss by keeping her for work when it’s safe to do so.
